In Sub Sahara Africa more than 60 percent of a 1.2 billion population are under the age of 25, which makes them viable workforce for the agricultural sector. The growing youth population has led to high rate of unemployment in these regions and agricultural sector has the potential of providing gainful employment to these youths, but because of their perception of agricultural practices as traditionally requiring manual labor, offering low wages and the need to move from rural areas to urban areas making agriculture not appealing to this new generation of youths who prefers finding white collar jobs or moving abroad.

For agriculture to be more appealing to youths, so it can be perceived as a profitable venture technology has to be infused into it making it more innovative. The traditional method of carrying out agricultural practices has to be improved upon, teaching these youths how to combine agriculture and technology in this fast developing world.
